There’s history here for many families in the area
A long running history
Giving families beautiful memories of their child’s first years has always been at the heart of Seaforth Childcare’s programs. The Centre’s roots run deep in the local community, and many of our parents appreciate the fact that Anita Commander – whose family founded Seaforth Childcare in 1991 – is still at the helm all these years on. “There’s history here for many families in the area, including my own,” says Anita. “Both my children started their early education here at Seaforth Childcare, and they’re teenagers now, so it’s a pretty special place for me, too!
Families place their trust in us
Over the years, Seaforth Childcare has earned a reputation locally as both a professional and trusted service – with most enrolments coming from recommendations. As a privately-owned service, we’re able to readily adapt to the needs of our families. We also place great importance in recruiting the right staff for our Seaforth family and encourage their professional development – so they, and your children, thrive. “As a parent, I understand how nerve-wracking it can be to leave your child in the care of others,” says Anita, “and our educators play an important role in creating a nurturing ‘home away from home’ for your child, while also ensuring a focus on early years education.
Setting up your little one for big school
You’ve probably noticed that we’re right next door to Seaforth Public School – that’s no accident! Seaforth Childcare and Seaforth School have collaborated from the start and we continue to work closely with each other in order to support the local community. Our School Readiness Program, with a focus on cognitive skills as well as social and emotional confidence, is the perfect preparation for the transition to all local schools.
When it came to putting our child into care for the first time, I was a bundle of anxiety. I wish I knew about Seaforth Childcare then, what I know now and that’s simply that your children become part of another family. The educators aren’t just educators, they are soothers, healers, compromises and above all, carers. The love and compassion they have given our son from 11 months old is something I’ll never be able to thank them enough for. Hands down, the best people to put your child in the hands of.
