Creating healthy eating habits from a young age is an essential part of lifelong health and wellbeing.
At Seaforth Childcare, our nutritional daily menu of nourishing hot meals and snacks adhere to The Australian Dietary Guidelines.
All parents want to ensure the right nutrition is on offer to their child, but it can be a battle for some. If your child is a little fussy at home, you may be pleasantly surprised at how much he or she will eat at childcare. After all, we often find that children eat more or try different foods when dining with their peers!
Our meals are prepared daily by Kids Gourmet Food (KGF), which delivers them fresh to Seaforth Childcare each day. We opted for KGF as they are experts in child nutrition and produce a variety of child-friendly meals. In addition, KGF design the meals in consultation with nutritionists and dieticians to ensure the highest nutritional standards. High-quality, seasonal ingredients are used and the KGF chefs will cook and snap-chill all meals prior to delivery. Nutritional menus are rotated every 6 weeks.
Ensuring a child gets the nutrition they need can be tricky. That’s why our healthy and balanced meals include a variety of:
- Fresh vegetables and legumes
- Seasonal fruit
- Wholegrains and seeds
- Lean fresh meat and fish
- Dairy options
- Allergy meal options
What are the Australian Dietary Guidelines?
Good nutrition is essential for all Australians, but especially for babies and children. It’s never too early to help them learn about eating and develop healthy habits. The Australian Dietary Guidelines provide recommended advice about the types and amounts of foods, food groups and dietary patterns that aim to:
- promote health and wellbeing;
- reduce the risk of diet-related conditions, such as high cholesterol, high blood pressure and obesity; and
- reduce the risk of chronic diseases such as type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease and some types of cancers.

Children with food allergies
A child with food allergies or special dietary requirements can be stressful for parents. Therefore, it’s important to notify us so we can make sure your child is safely catered for. KGF offer a range of tailored meals to ensure your child feels included and can enjoy a wholesome, tasty and fun experience at every meal time.
Breakfast and dinner options
