Community, partnerships and sponsorship

For many years, Seaforth Childcare has been committed to giving back to its local community.

We love partnering and supporting local schools, charities, community and sporting groups on the Northern Beaches. Some of the not-for-profit organisations we assist include Seaforth Public School P&C, Seaforth Public School Community Gardens, Seaforth Netball Club, Seaforth Cricket Club and Northern Beaches Women’s Shelter.

Community

Giving back to the local community is a priority for the team at Seaforth Childcare, and we’re always seeking new ways to help.

Community organisations we currently work with include Bushlink, which visits Seaforth School each term and works alongside the children to help maintain the Kitchen Garden. Bushlink is dedicated to creating real and valued employment for people with disability, through a network of working environmental project teams.

We also support Seaforth Netball Club and make regular donations throughout the year to Northern Beaches Women’s Shelter. Every February, we conduct a campaign to collect luggage from families, which can be given to residents of the shelter who may have arrived in haste with few personal possessions. Wheelie suitcases restore personal dignity at a time of acute trauma and uncertainty.

Partnerships

Seaforth Childcare has a long history of employing local staff, so we’re glad to continue our partnership with Australia’s largest VET provider, TAFE NSW. This collaboration involves offering traineeships to Northern Beaches students keen to work in the child care industry, providing on-the-job training from the 35 highly-skilled Early Childhood Teachers at Seaforth Childcare. Workplace opportunities for TAFE students and graduates will also be available.

Bush to Bowl is another collaboration we’re proud of. This 100% Aboriginal-owned social enterprise aims to create spaces where families and community members can engage with Australia’s native plants and traditional Aboriginal knowledge and culture. Our children love learning about native seeds, cooking and growing plants under the guidance of the Bush to Bowl team!

If you’d like to chat about a partnership opportunity, please drop us a line.

Sponsorship

Seaforth Childcare is proud to be long-time sponsors of a child through The Smith Family. We’re also big supporters of Share the Dignity, an initiative providing feminine hygiene products to women in need, as they  work to end period poverty here in Australia. Our families also generously donate supplies to this organisation.

During the festive season, the families at Seaforth Childcare also donate gifts for children in need to the Smile Elite’s Christmas Giving Tree Event, and in 2020 we donated to Royal Far West, which supply gifts to children in the country.

We’re also proud sponsors of Global Citizen, an international education and advocacy organisation working to end extreme poverty. We’re willing members who donate and share the organisation’s messages with the staff and children about education, health and poverty.
